Peoples of Aquitanian Ancestry<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"95\" data-end=\"380\">The term <em data-start=\"104\" data-end=\"116\">Aquitanian<\/em> refers to the protohistoric root from which the Basques are the last linguistic representatives. The area shared by the Basques and the Gascons\u2014whose Romance language developed on an Aquitanian substratum\u2014constitutes Vasconia (also known as Vasconie or Baskonia).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"382\" data-end=\"566\">To symbolize this ancestral root, we have used the medieval emblem of the star known as the <em data-start=\"474\" data-end=\"496\">estrella de Vasconia<\/em>.
