Peoples of Aquitanian ancestry

The term Aquitanian refers to the protohistoric ancestry whose last linguistic representatives are the Basques. The area shared by the Basques and the Gascons—whose Romance language developed on an Aquitanian substratum—constitutes Vasconia, Vasconia, or Baskonia.

To symbolize this ancestry, we have used the medieval emblem known as the estrella de Vasconia (star of Vasconia).
